Conference Picnic

A new tradition in our home we has begun,it is a conference picnic. This occurs after the 1st session of Conference on Sunday morning. Now my original plan was to go watch General Conference at the church, and then have a picnic. But Utah had to rain on my parade. General Conference is not shown in stake centers here. CRAZY..right?! So we made do, and watched conference at home, and after we headed over to the mabin. The pond was just filled up. So it was the perfect place to picnic(Besides the wind, and my husband  wanted to eat in the car, who does that) I love my family. In moments of distress, and crying I wonder what have I gotten myself into. Then Sydney says "mama Scarlett is perfect", or Sadie says "don't worry mama daddy will shock them". Then all the selfish thoughts of "why me" turned into a silent prayer of gratitude. 99.9% of the time my children have snotty nose's,  stains on their clothes, and dirt under their nails. Their hair that was once done, is way to easily turned into a tangled mess. But under that all their, is smiles on their faces. They will not have the nicest clothes, or have the best toys, and I can guarantee they will not always look "perfect". But they are perfect to me. I am blessed to stay home, and have all my focus on them . Our needs are met, and WE ARE BLESSED.

Sadie...need I say more

********DISCLOSURE******
This post is out of control, and wildly funny. Hence the title.
I have this little girl. She is ridiculously out of control, and hilarious at the same time. Majority of the time I can laugh this little girls attitude and spunk of. BUT, there are days moments, when even I, her mother lose my cool. This little ball of energy was sent to torture bless with all of the joy I ever brought my mother (my dear mother, in hind sight I can understand why my mother had a conniption when I snuck out of bed.)

The joy from this firecracker is indescribable. At the end of the day I am exhausted, but as I think back about Sadie I can't  help but get a smile on my face. Although after the smile, is usually the thought about tomorrow. With this is brought the shear terror of having to do it all over again!!! Oh, but how blessed am I, to have a tomorrow?! So I have listed a few days/moments of my encounters with Sadie. I have to document, to ensure people I am not making this stuff up. There is no way I could make this up....

Jeff and had all the girls tucked in. Jammies were on, teeth were brushed, and stories were read. No more needed to be said, they were off to bed. That is unless, you have a SADIE! Jeff and I were watching a show downstairs, and heard slight movement upstairs. Nothing that sounded like attention was needed. After our show was over we were off to bed. As I climbed upstairs, the thought of all my girls sleeping was so comforting. Until I reached the top step, and with horror I realized the girls light had been turned on! I was sure I was going to find a stage 3 disaster, toilet flooded, Sadie sitting on Sydney. So I dreadfully walked to their door. To my surprise, this is what awaited me!! Don't ask me how, or why. All I do know is the light was on, jammies were off. Yet they were both sound asleep.
Sadie is many things. Exhibitionist..perhaps, determined for sure! This child of mine, see's what she wants, and will find a way. This is a perfect example. Jeff stashes those tasty Cafe Rio mints up here. Apparently someone had been watching him. I walked in to my closet to find a half naked Sadie, helping herself to some tasty mints.
Have no fear big sister Sadie is here!! Let me just tell you, she LOVES to be there. Poor Squeaks on the other hand is left to endure. Sadie is my baby monitor  for Squeaks. Daily, thanks to this girl I get a play by play, on just what our Squeaks is up to. Majority of the time Sadie will drag her by the arm, or foot, to report to me her findings.
Sadie Loves this man! He is her BEST friend. Whenever we go over to "Grandpa Chickens" house, he is not allowed out of sight. Every once in a while, he will sneak out of her sight. But shoes, or no shoes, goat heads, or bugs, Sadie will walk down to the chicken coop, where Grandpa is sure to be. She is determined, and knows what she likes, and who she likes.

A good way to tell if Sadie is in a good mood , is by her hair. If you will look at exhibit A (Posted above) You will See happy hair done Sadie
Now exhibit B(Posted above) Hair undone, and on the verge of a crazed break down! You best watch out when her hair is undid

If you are in need of a good laugh. Sadie is your best bet. The latest thing out of her mouth is, "Mama, when I get bigger I gonna get married, and then and then I will have a baby in my belly".  As her mother I hope that the baby is born at least 10 months after them being married!!

This little girl of mine rocks my world. She brings so much, joy, and frustration to my life. My days without her would be quite, but not near as entertaining. I know Sadie was so anxious to get to earth to be reunited with her sister.

A trampoline, some girls, and their favorite guy

So for Christmas I somehow convinced Jeff to get the girls a trampoline. I knew this would be my saving grace. It has been just that. The girls love it. They play on it constantly, even though it has been cold. Sadie will go out, and quickly return. Insisting that in order to jump they need a snack. In order to keep the peace (and my sanity) I comply. That settles that, and they are gone. Even if it is only for 5 minutes. Well along with this trampoline my girls also have THE best dad ever. Ya, he is pretty great. When Jeff comes home, he always feeds the horse. The girls tag along with him, and they usually can convince him to come jump on the trampoline.

Bum check (like mother like daughter)

Does anyone know how I can flip these pictures?! They are save correctly on my comp, but com up like this

Gone Fishing

Back in the good ol days, when I was little. Fishing was a rare occurrence. We went occasionally. My dad was in no way a fisherman....he was more of a wisher man. The most action that would occur on our trips, is when I would begin to get so bored, and my imaginary friends were just not cutting it. I would begin to throw rocks in the water. Apparently that was a no no. My Dad would kindly yell at me to STOP! So, ya fishing was not my forte. Well I met this boy, and he kind of stole my heart. To my great delight he is now my husband! Well that husband of mine, he is no wisher man, he is a for sure a fisherman. You could have him fish a pond with one fish, and I would put money on it that he would get it. Cocky.....perhaps, but I can brag about him. He is pretty amazing. So fishing with him is actually FUN! Yes, I actually used fun, and fishing in the same sentence. Craziness. Instead of imaginary friends, I now have little girls to help keep me company. While the man works. Someone has got to do it. Honestly I think this husband of mine would not consider fishing work! We attempted our first family of 5 fishing trip a few Saturdays ago. Unsure, and a little nervous to see how this would play out. We began our adventure. First had to stop at Marv's, and get lunch, this was for sure some dragging of our feet. Jeff and I were a really tad nervous. We knew what fishing with 2 kids was like, but now adding a 3rd in, well we knew it could get interesting. Well we pulled up to the reservoir, and it was a beautiful day. We were not the only ones fishing, and we were so happy we made the choice to do this. We unloaded the girls, and Jeff began his magic. My friend has an Ergo(a super cool baby carrier, one day I plan to own one) and was so kind to let me borrow it. That little ergo saved my life. I was like super mom. Jeff set up three poles, and before we knew it FISH ON! Now in fishing language that means drop everything, including children (thankfully for the ergo there was no dropping of squeaks, have no fear)  and get the freaking fish out of the water. The first few fish squeaks slept through. By the 7th fish she was awake, and hungry. So before I was aware of us catching a fish, I began to feed her. In the ergo. No big thing, but then Jeff  yells "FISH ON". Without thinking about it, I grabbed the net, and netted the fish. All while nursing a baby. Ya, I am pretty much a big deal. Nursing, and netting. Now, that deserves some kind of a reward. Don't worry, when I bragged to Jeff about my ability's, he let me know he was slightly impressed. He would have been more impressed if I was reeling, netting, and nursing. RUDE! Can't a girl catch a break. Earlier on one of the lines Jeff had worked so hard to set up. Actually broke, so all the fishing line had gone into the water. Jeff was mad, because that was a lot of time wasted ( I tell you he takes this fishing stuff pretty seriously) and now we were down a pole. well after my nursing and netting. Jeff realized the fish we had just got, had gotten stuck in the fishing line we had lost. As Jeff was trying to get the hook/other line off he felt tugging on the line. He un-hooked it from the one fish, we were confused as to why we could not just pull it in. It felt like it was stuck on something. Jeff proceed to try, and as he was pulling it in, we realized there was a FISH ON! What are the chances! We had a way good laugh, and that my friends was our limit! We caught our limit in 2 hours. My hubby is a champ. The girls did amazing, and loved being outside, and with the fam. This kind of family outing, really helps me put in perspective family. Come what may, we have each other. That is all that matters, and if we are blessed with ten kids (please don't quote me on this) I know our family could make it. It is the small things that count, not how many sports, or dance class's they are in. It is learning to have a great time with the family, doing activity's that don't involve money. Life is good. FISHING IS FUN!!
Until the next, FISH ON

Weekly Highlights

*Our Week*
This Saturday we went fishing!! This trip deserves a full post.

The girls were driving me really kinda crazy. So I found a box, and a shovel! Who would have thought, saved by dirt. Heads up to all that come to my house, there will most likely be several box's of dirt. I do what I must to maintain my sanity. If I can even be classified as sane ;)

Do you remember how Sadie is going through that whole mom stage     (http://dahisanddahers.blogspot.com/2014/02/mom-is-my-namecalling-it-is-game.html
Well it was one of those days. SO I told her to go talk to the horse. Poor horse

This girl. She cracks me up daily. This is her waking up from a nap. Note the purses, and the hair. Now she was put to bed with her hair done, and no purse's.

Squeaks is all over the place!! In our house there is a carpeted area by the kitchen. Squeaks gets put her often, while I cook, or clean. Well the girls and I were doing our thing, when I heard some serious breathing. A little nervous Darth Vator, had invited himself in. I turned to find this little girl poking her head around the corner!!

Mom is my name, calling it is a game.

So my darling Sadie Roo. She is a doll. I love her to death...I do. Sadie loves to talk. Since she was 1 month old she would mimic our gooing sounds. Sounds crazy I know! She totally would. That should have been our signal, that we had a busy body on our hands. At that time, it was just the cutest thing ever. Well, now it is super annoying still the cutest thing ever! Sadie literally talks from sun up, to sun down. Parents that complain about the "why" stage, have nothing on the 'Sadie stage', in fact I envy those parents! I am enduring loving the 'Sadie stage'.

Sadie Stage: the, how, what, why, where, who, how, what, why, where is the doggie stage. Oh, and one more thing about this stage. Her favorite saying at the moment is...drum roll please..... MAMA!!! That's right MOM! Me myself, and I. Darling right?!?! WRONNNGGG! It was cute when she said it the first few times. Now to her, it is just a habit. She sings Twinkle little Star, and some how throws mom in there. If I do not respond, she than will sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, AMANDA, how I wonder what you are". I wish I had a button, that I could push, that would disable my response to mom, or even Amanda.  In one of my weakest moments. I was on the verge of a mental "mom" breakdown. I decided to capture this mom stage, in hopes, that one day it would be funny! So here it goes, a story about, a Sadie, three simple letters
M O M

"I coloring this pretty picture lalalala MOM"

 "I love to color MOOOMMM"
"hey, hey, hey mom, I just coloring this picta". "AMANDA, I coloring"

Hey Sadie. "huh, mom...Stop saying mom"? Yes, Sadie please stop saying mom

"Ohhhhh okay. I will stop saying mom"

                                           " Ummmmmm, lalalala"

                                                                             "MOOO

                                                          OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

                                                                             M MOM"

                        "hahaha, AMANDA"

                                              Sadie! Please stop saying mom

" AHHHHHH I WANT MY DADDY"

                  "Why you being mean"

Sadie, I love you, I am sorry.

                                                                  "Hey, mom"

                                          "Just playin, hey mom"

Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam....with or without owies

So Sydney is officially a Sunbeam!! Ya, I don't know where time has gone. I thought for sure this would be a HUGE adjustment. Sydney absolutely hates change. I mean you put her undies on different, and she has a come apart. So to say I was a tad nervous about this change, would have been an understatement. I was dreading the day, she became a Sunbeam. Shockingly, the transition could not have gone any smoother! I am in primary, so I got to just sit, and just stare at my big girl. She did AMMAAZZING. She sang along to the songs, and even sat in her seat. I know Heavenly Father had a hand in that. Well although she did amazing, she looked like she had been in a bad accident! On New Years day Sydney was jumping on our trampoline. Mind you our trampoline has a net around it. Jeff was out playing with her, and pretended like he was going to get her. Well Sydney took off. The net was not zipped up all the way, and so Sydney somehow managed to run straight through the tiny opening. The dirt right now is frozen. So Sydney landed face first, on solid dirt. Her eye area was HUGE! Jeff, and I were certain she had fractured a bone. We were really considering not taking her to church, just because how awful it looked. Sydney for sure has had her share of owies! She is just a bit clumsy. Just tonight, she was helping me cook, and somehow fell off the counter!! Ya, I have no clue. Well the obvious person to blame it on is her father. So in honor of Sydney's owies, here is the collection!

This owie occurred right after this picture was taken, Sadie knocked Syd of the bench. Thankfully for Photoshop we were able to cover up the massive bite mark left by Sadie on Sydney's cheek!

Poor little girl, life has taken a beating on her!!
